The ultimate problem solver

The simple act of walking helps us shift our perspective

Solvitur ambulando.

This, by the way, is Latin for “It is solved by walking.”

I read this recently and it really struck a cord. At its most simple, it means that any problem can be solved by going for a walk.

By getting up from our desk chairs, or from our sofas, and taking it outside – even if that's just for 15 minutes – we're already shifting something. We physically shifting our view, and in doing so, we're saying that we're willing to shift our mental perspective, too.

So, next time you're ruminating on something – whether that's a work issue, a difficult relationship, a conversation you don't want to have, or simply when you're feeling stuck, get up and go for a walk.

I'd invite you not to listen to a podcast while you're at it. Put on some music if you need to listen to something. And look at the world around you; really observe it.

Keep an open mind… and see what unfolds.

3 takeaways from this post:

  1. Walking is the ultimate problem solver.

  2. By going for a walk, you indicate to the Universe that you’re willing to shift your perspective.

  3. Be present while you’re walking, and observe the world around you.

Need help in shifting your perspective? I’d love to help you see things differently and find opportunities where previously you saw only problems. Drop me a line if you’d like support, or book a transformational coaching or shamanic healing session here.
